5th Annual Boston Salsa Congress™

2005 Workshop Schedule

Tentative: Updated August 29, 2005

Please note: some changes to this schedule may be unavoidable due to travel delays and conflicts. Every effort will be made to keep the schedule as is, to accomodate your planning.

Workshop Levels:
Workshops may be attended by all at their own choosing. i.e. there are no formal requirements. If participants find themselves in a workshop that is too difficult or too easy, or of unsuitable content, participants may switch to a different workshop. We ask that this be done in the first 5 minutes of each session, to avoid disruption. Instructors will not go back over material for late entrants.

= Advanced Beginner Level. Instructors expect that participants have a general understanding of the basic steps, some turns, and cross body lead. Focus will be on fundamentals.
Note: introductory level workshops are offered each evening.

= Intermediate Level. Instructors expect that participants have a good understanding of the basics steps, turns, some footwork, cross-body lead, good rhythm, connection, and balance. Focus will be on the details and more advanced choreography is presented.
= Masters/Advanced Level. Instructors expect that participants have mastered basic Salsa skills and are experienced in advanced turn patterns and footwork.
= Indicates if the workshop is relevant to or taught primarily "On 1", "On 2", or both. Most workshops are intended to be beneficial to all dancers, and instructors are asked to accomodate both style when explaining choreography.

Where more than one level is indicated, instructors will adjust the difficulty in accordance with the participants in the workshop.
